Symonds Warne Charity Golf Day Nets 100k for Rural Aid

April 10 2026

Can a corporate golf day achieve benefits for Regional Queenslanders doing it tough? Well, just by getting together and swinging the irons to honour their late, great mates, the Bulls Masters and the Shane Warne Foundation have done exactly that!

“Everything that Rural Aid does is off the generosity of the Australian people, and we are so grateful to the Bulls Masters and the Shane Warne Foundation for this hundred thousand dollars”, Rural Aid CEO, John Warlters explains.

The Bulls Masters were able to hand over the cheque to Rural Aid which was raised during the inaugural Symonds Warne Charity Golf Day, held last November in partnership with the Shane Warne Foundation. “We know there is some big challenges confronting our farmers at this time, flood and flood recovery in the North of the state and down South it is incredibly dry”, Warlers explains that the money will be put to good use supporting Regional farmers who are dealing with hardship.

The Rural Aid cause was chosen to honour former Queensland Cricket legend Andrew Symonds. Bulls Masters Chairman, Ian Healy says it simply, “Rural Aid was one of Roy’s favourites”.

“From the little fledgling organisation full of the old boys from Queensland Cricket, to be going 16 years later, and to be able to hand over such a significant cheque to a worthy cause, is quite incredible I reckon”, Healy reflects on the ability of the Bulls Masters to achieve such wonderful outcomes.

This windfall for Regional Queensland farmers comes in part thanks to the Shane Warne Foundation, who were partners in the golf day. The 2nd annual Symonds Warne Charity Golf Day will be held in Victoria at the end of this year with the Shane Warne Foundation to choose the beneficiary for the proceeds of that event.
