The Bulls Masters held a dinner at the Pullman Reef Casino to raise money for the charity, “Cairns Organisation United for Cancer Health”, also known as “COUCH”.
COUCH have recently opened a new wellness centre and the funds raised will go towards helping them establish the state of the art facility.
A raucous crowd of around 250 turned out to support the Lunch which had special guest speakers, Ian Healy, Andrew Symonds and Laura Geitz give insights into their illustrious careers.
Comedian, Vince Sorrenti stole the show with his humour that resonated with the Cairns audience.
The Bulls Masters also played a T20 game against the Mayor’s XI to open the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games. A strong team that included legends of Queensland Cricket such as Ian Healy, Allan Border, Michael Kasprowicz, Andy Bichel, Luke Feldman, Andrew Symonds and Nathan Reardon to name a few, found the conditions challenging on a dry wicket.
They held the Mayor’s XI to just 110 runs but struggled to get a partnership going as they limped to 98 in reply.
Congratulations to the Far North Queensland cricketers who won the game!
