Masters Bring Rain To Emerald

A strong Bulls Masters line-up that included legends of the game such as Ian Healy, Andrew Symonds, Carl Rackemann, Andy Bichel, Jimmy Maher, Michael Kasprowicz, Gavin Fitness, Luke Feldman, Nathan McSweeney and Holly Ferling came to entertain the Central Highlands town.

The dinner was held to raise money for both Central Highlands Cricket and Outback Futures, who support mental health throughout Regional Queensland.

Former Australian Cricket cult hero, Andrew Symonds and Broncos legend, Allan Langer entertained a strong local crowd of around 130 guests with their classic off the cuff humour, and tales from their distinguished careers.

Australian Cricket royalty, Ian Healy was also invited onto the stage and spoke for almost 40 minutes about his career and moments that had the audience in stitches laughing.

The night was a huge success thanks to the support of many generous locals who helped the Bulls Masters raise plenty of money for both the worthy causes.

The Central Highlands has been battling one of the worst droughts in Queensland's history so perhaps it was poetic that the rain set in the night before the much anticipated T20 match between the Bulls Masters and the Central Highlands XI. Despite the torrid conditions, the game went on and Central Highlands scored 3 for 40 off 11 overs on a water-logged pitch.

Andy Bichel and Nathan McSweeney opened the batting for the Bulls Masters and with the rain continuing to fall they were on a mission to chase the runs down as quickly as possible so they could get to dryer land. The rain may have ruined the cricket spectacle but it was much appreciated by the graziers who had been praying for it over the past seven years of drought.

The match may have finished quickly but the Bulls Masters were still able to hold their high development coaching clinics with the regions young, up and coming cricketers.
