The Club 95 Golf Day moved to the world class Pelican Waters Golf Club near Caloundra for 2023 and all members who made the trip were rewarded with stunning conditions at the flawlessly presented Greg Norman designed course.
After six previous Club 95 Golf Day events had thrown up three wins for Team Maher and three for Team Kasprowicz, excitement was brewing that perhaps a different team might be able to upset the status quo and create history.
As the scored started to trickle in after six holes played, it was clear that Team Border with Club 95 Member #31 Matt King leading the charge was going to be hard to beat off the stick. However, in the Ambrose format, they would have to keep the birdies rolling in to win the Green Jackets.
After 12 holes completed, Team Border was still comfortably in front off the stick at 5 under, with Team Rackemann making a charge at 2 under, Team Bichel and Team Kasprowicz were in the hunt at even. However once handicaps were counted in the scoring it was shaping up to be a close finish.
Tension was high in the clubhouse as Bulls Masters MC Ken Healy announced the winners. Storming home to take out the Club 95 Golf Championship at Pelican Waters was Team Bichel, just pipping Team Border by half a point!
