The third annual Remembering Roy Tour to Cairns and Port Douglas in memory of the late Bulls Masters maestro, Andrew Symonds began with the school visits. Gavin Fitness, Andy Bichel and Adam Dale went to St Augustines and St Mary’s in Woree, while Nathan Reardon, Michael Kasprowicz and Joe Dawes dropped in on St Andrews and Newman’s Catholic College to run some clinics and chat to the students.

The Bulls Masters enjoyed running the students through some technique drills and also got to chat to them about the ingredients of success for Regional kids.
The Remembering Roy lunch at the Cairns Pullman International is always one of the hottest tickets in town and this year we had another all-star cast. Australian Cricket legend Mark Waugh and Brisbane Lions triple premiership Brownlow medal winning icon, Simon Black provided the on-stage entertainment with the “Lambassador”, Sam Kekovich providing the comic relief. Legends of Australian and Queensland Cricket attended the event on behalf of the Bulls Masters, including Allan Border, Ian Healy, Michael Kasprowicz, Carl Rackemann, Jimmy Maher, Ken Healy and MC Pat Welsh.

There were tributes to some Bulls Masters favourites up north too. Retiring President of the Queensland Country Cricket Association, Kev Maher was celebrated for his lifetime contribution to cricket and Suncorp Stadium general manager, Alan Graham was thanked for his generous contributions to the Bulls Masters which has raised over $200,000. Alan will retire from his role in the coming weeks.
The Remembering Roy lunch was supported by over 300 people who helped to raise over $60,000 for cancer support network, “COUCH”, and Cricket Far North.
