The Bulls Masters were back in Mackay leading in to the Australia Day long weekend to provide some high level coaching for junior cricketers and to raise money for the Mackay Sports Foundation.
Elite coaches were flown in to run specific batting bowling and fielding drills aimed at increasing the skill level and confidence of the cricket talent in the Mackay Region. Former Queensland Bulls fast bowler, Luke Feldman was joined by former West Indies batsman, Brendan Nash and renowned cricket coach, Lachlan Stevens. Stevens played domestically for both South Australia and Queensland before moving into coaching where some of his coaching credits include the Western Australia mens and Victorian women’s teams.

While in Mackay, Michael Kasprowicz, who has a volunteer recognition program named in his honour “Kasper’s Crew”, was able to present an award to Laura Dodd from the Norths Mackay club.

The Mackay Sports Foundation provides grants to assist young athletes, coaches, and officials (under 21) from the Mackay, Whitsunday, and Isaac regions with travel costs for national and international competition. It supports diverse sports to foster local talent for the 2032 Olympics, with funding rounds available through Harrup Park.
Michael Kasprowicz is an official ambassador for the Mackay Sports Foundation. The Bulls Masters held a fundraising lunch which was well supported by the locals. Rugby league legend, Kevin Walters joined the Bulls Masters for the lunch as a guest speaker. Michael Kasprowicz and Jimmy Maher were on stage too talking cricket in what was a highly entertaining and successful fundraiser.
