TEAMS EXPECT TO BE FULL STRENGTH FOR THE COUNTRY CHALLENGE FINAL

Central Queensland Seamers are confident that former captain, Aaron Harmsworth will be recovered from injury in time for the Bulls Masters Country Challenge final.

Harmsworth injured himself while batting in the first game of the Bulls Masters Country Challenge preliminary rounds held in Mackay during October. He retired hurt and has not played since, sitting out for Rockhampton in the North Queensland Titles. All-rounder Ben Milne was also injured for Rockhampton but with the Country Challenge final at the Gabba not until January 17th, the Central Queensland Seamers expect to have all players fit and firing in time for the decider.

Central Queensland Seamers will go for their first ever Country Challenge title with an in-form team, despite their injury concerns. All-rounder, Jason Seng was the player of the tournament in Mackay, scoring 134 runs at an average of 45 and a strike rate over 180. He also took five wickets at 18 a piece. Seamers first drop, Joe McGahan had a strong tournament too and scored 130 last weekend in the local comp. Young quick bowler Logan Whitfield, who made the Queensland Country under 21's will also be a key player for the Seamers at the Gabba.

Nitros team manager, Russell English is wary of the Seamers, " Central Queensland have a very handy side", he said.

"We have the experience, having played in the last two finals but who knows?" he added after being asked who were the favourites for the decider.

The Mackay/Whitsunday Nitros team have arguably the best country player in the state, Mitchell English. The run-machine proved he'll be a key wicket for the Seamers, scoring 115 in a one-dayer in the Mackay comp last weekend. English and big-hitting Jason Butterworth loom as the key for the Nitros against a handy Seamers attack.

Opening bowler, Adam Knezevich is recovering from a broken finger but is confident he'll be fit in time for the final at the Gabba.
